SEAT OF MUSES

Our School Becomes Your School

We are actively seeking inspired, wise, wild women teacher leaders for their participation in the Seat of Muses—healing arts collective. We would like to share our event center, land, and resources with community-seeking women who have the wisdom to share and stories to tell. Partner with us to bring your work forward. Our school is your school.

Our center is a museum, school and guild focused on the philosophy of Intentional Creativity. We offer both free and paid educational opportunities. As well as free monthly support and creativity calls, and a free online community of over 6,000 women worldwide.

Our 6,500 square foot campus is in Sonoma with a location in Tiburon and Anderson Valley. Our primary campus is ideal for classes, workshops, and events. We are 30 minutes from Napa and Petaluma and 45 minutes from San Francisco and Santa Rosa. We are featuring two rooms over 1000 square feet for you to teach in, plus a big kitchen, two bathrooms and outside spaces creating an ideal location for your clients and students.

This space works for dance, yoga, speaking, and all creative process. You can get messy with art, and sing out loud and beat the drum. You can call your circles here. Your ceremonies and your curriculum can have a physical location to call your own. You can hang your shingle here, put this address on your business card, get photos for your website to draw your clients to wine country beauty, and so much more!

We desire to create a Circle of women who will support and empower each other. The intention is to have the ability to share with each other and our audiences, as appropriate, what is happening at MUSEA. We want to to gather together to discuss how we can grow even more in a community rather than alone, where we have to do everything ourselves. This requires your willingness to see the Circle as valuable beyond “space rental” and hold the energy of connection and collaboration, abundance, prosperity and gratitude.

If this sounds as wonderful to you as it does to us, please apply. Most dates are currently full for 2020. To inquire about possible dates, please reach out to michelle.dench@musea.org. Please click the button and enter your information to receive updates and announcements as they are available.

Seat of Muses - Stay Informed

SONOMA - The Valley of the Moon

Sonoma wine country is a destination location where our guests from around the world long to come. We have hosted thousands of students here since 2016 and our clients come again and again. We are in the famous Carneros region. There are wineries and food all along the route and wonderful activities in the area as well as ample lodging for your out of town guests. Yet close enough for Bay Area students to travel back and forth for daylong events - and against the usual traffic flow.

MUSEA Center - Our Sonoma Facilities

Space Configuration: As a member, you will have access to our campus. Our Sonoma Campus features 2 rooms, the Classroom and the Greatroom, Chef's Kitchen and two bathrooms, including one with ADA access, a little gift shop, collectively around 3000 square feet. The space feels generous and spacious.

INSIDE: The Classroom is great for movement, yoga, art, process and can be mostly empty as well as set up with tables and chairs. We have tables and nice red "church" chairs for 30 plus coach space bringing it to 35 very comfortably. We have a capacity for 30 chairs and 6-6 ft. tables in the other room. Past members have used the Classroom for teaching and process and the Greatroom for circle and meditation. When you book the event, you specify your needs but can adjust as needed because you will have direct access to set up materials.

OUTSIDE: There is a very generous outside space that can also be set up with outside tables and chairs under the redwood trees - however, there is outside road noise so not ideal for quiet activities. We often sing, dance, hug the trees, and have feasts! We have parking inside the gate and on the road. Most of the time we have 30 people, but we can go up to 50 as needed. Two different teachings can also happen in different rooms if needed.

KITCHEN: We have a gorgeous eat-in kitchen with a table for 8, which can also serve as a teacher's lounge, as we do not make this as available to students. There are a coffee and tea station and water set up in the Great Room. For full catering or food-related events, there are separate ala carte items you can add as we do have set up for 20+ in dishware. There are lots of other details to share with you, which we will for those who apply, like how many cups and plates, what's included and how it all works.

There is no lodging at this time, although for those traveling from out of town, we do have a teacher room with a queen bed, and access to a shower. We do have two staff members who live onsite who are part of the collective and have been for several years. Should you have any questions, please contact michelle.dench@musea.org

Membership to Seat of Muses

Your Monthly or Annual Membership is based on the number of days you want to share our space, then adds a number of community-oriented perks. Instead of the often large upfront fees for booking events way in the future, we have a payment plan. No more paying a big deposit before we have even begun to sell into our program and collected income.

We have spread out the fee over 12 months to make it so much easier for you. Membership begins at $97 per month for 3 days and goes up to $497 a month depending on how many days you choose! Once you apply we will go over the details and you can design your path. All you need to know now is that you would like to book a minimum of 3 days sometime between now and the end of 2020.

Seat of Muses Interview

A Few Words from our Founder, Shiloh Sophia

"While I am a landowner I do not come to it as a landlord. I come as the founder of a movement seeking to call other powerful women into circle. The assets, resources and relationships I have built call me towards my dream of being philanthropic. This invitation comes from the heart, and from the deep wisdom that I carry: when women work together, we can create something exponentially more powerful. "

- Shiloh Sophia

When I opened my gallery on the Sonoma Plaza in 1999, my teacher, Sue Hoya Sellars made my table by hand. I remember sanding it and watching her work, feeling so grateful that the table I was going to do business at, paint on, and receive prosperity through was made by the hands of a woman. I still use that table today. I made my own seat at the table. I was raised to define my own place, my own information.

My sacred work is to call women to their information through awakening consciousness."
